A CDL license is your entry pass to landing a job as a truck driver. But what is a CDL license? No matter what region you want to drive in, a CDL license is required to drive anything more than 26,000 pounds or for any commercial use. You also need a CDL license for transporting hazardous materials that require government placards. And it’s required to drive any low trucks or tractor-trailers. A CDL license has been required to drive a truck in America since 1986. The government doesn’t require you to complete any specific training, but they do require that you pass a CDL license test. To pass the CDL license test you must get at least 80 percent of the written questions on the CDL license test correct. You must also pass a driving skills test.
